BAA is considering selling Naples airport to an Italian bidder.
Naples is the only non-UK airport that the airport operator BAA owns.
According to Reuters, Italian infrastructure company F2i is in talks with Ferrovial, BAA's parent company, to sell off a 65% stake in Naples International airport. The remaining 35% is owned by local authorities in Naples.
While declining to confirm exact names, a spokesperson for F2i confirmed it is investigating an investment in an "important airport infrastructure located in Southern Italy".
The company's board has mandated its CEO to continue discussions with the seller.
The sale would help cut Spanish company Ferrovial's debt, with offers reported to be in the region of €200 million.
