Strikes at BAA airports look likely to have been averted, after trade unions accepted a revised pay offer from the airport operator.
The new deal includes a 2% unconditional pay rise, as well as a guaranteed airport profit bonus of £500 for 2010.
Members of the three unions involved, Unite, PCS and Prospect, will be now be balloted on the proposed pay deal, with a result expected in about three weeks.
A BAA spokesperson said: "We believe this is a fair offer for staff in what remains a difficult economic environment for the aviation industry. All parties brought a constructive approach to negotiations and we are sorry for the uncertainty ahead of yesterday's discussions."
