British Airways carried almost 6% more passengers in November than in the same month last year (see table below).
But the carrier has warned that flight cancellations, especially at Gatwick, during the recent wintry conditions will peg-back numbers in December.
BA said its revenue passenger kilometres increased by 3.5% and that passenger capacity on its aircraft - measured in available seat kilometres (ASK) - was up 5.1% on November 2009, though load factors decreased by 1.2 percentage points to 74.7%.
Premium traffic continued to grow, up 4.5% year-on-year, while the numbers flying in economy (World Traveller) were up 3.2%.
Meanwhile, anti-trade carrier Ryanair said it carried 5.06 million passengers last month, a 2% increase on last year's figure.
