Dynamic pricing to bring large savings
American Express Business Travel has launched its Preferred Extras Air Programme based around a dynamic pricing model.
Amex claim the programme could save UK businesses up to 39% on the cost of long haul flights with lower savings on short- and mid-haul routes.
The programme allows Amex customers to book in real time with live rates and availability.
Amex estimated its customers could save an average of 27% on published air fares.
Paul Hargreaves, vp and general manager for Amex Business Travel, UK and Ireland, said the programme offered competitive point-of-sale discounts and guaranteed fares from preferred suppliers.
Mr Hargreaves said Amex's purchasing power and links with suppliers would help businesses "at a time when many need it the most."
The programme also ties in bonus frequent flyer miles and faster progression through tiered loyalty programmes.
Amex said preferred rates available both online and offline would help travellers comply with travel policy.
The preferred air programme is available to all Amex Business Travel customers.
