American Airlines is making the world’s thinnest tablet PC available to travelers in its premium class cabins as part of its ongoing plans to modernize and enhance the travel experience.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab will become the in-flight entertainment device in premium class on a number of routes, including International flights to and from Europe and South America served with 767-300 aircraft.
Virasb Vahidi, American's Chief Commercial Officer, said: “American is the first North American airline to offer a branded tablet onboard its aircraft," Working with Samsung to outfit our premium cabins with the innovative Galaxy Tab will give our premium customers a modern and innovative in-flight entertainment experience."
Samsung will customize the Galaxy Tab for American, including the addition of expanded memory. It runs on Google’s Android platform. It is 8.6mm thick, with a ten inch screen.
