Emirates and Etihad have suspended flights to Baghdad this week.
Iraqi authorities have advised all airlines of the potential for restrictions on commercial airline activity, ahead of a meeting of the Arab League on March 29.
All guests booked to travel with Etihad on this route between March 26-30 will be contacted to make alternative arrangements.
In a statement on its website, Emirates said: "As mandated by the Iraq Civil Aviation Authority, Baghdad International Airport will be closed for commercial operations from 26th-30th March."
However other carriers, such as Fly Dubai, Middle East Airlines and Iran Air, are currently maintaining their schedules (for details, click here).
Baghdad International Airport has been contacted for clarification and any updates will be posted here.
Last week, Gulf Air announced the further suspension of its flights to and from all destinations in Iraq and Iran until further notice, although it cited the ongoing security situation for its decision.
