An aviation chief has blasted Britain's three main political parties for demonstrating a complete lack of planning and consistency.
Mike Carrivick, CEO of the Board of Airline Representatives in the UK (BAR UK), said Labour's decision to withdraw its support for a third runway at Heathrow was “a massive policy U-turn”.
He accused politicians of being “deliberately obstructive” to UK businesses and driving economic growth with their lack of support for aviation.
“All three main political parties are guilty of being indecisive and now have a duty to rapidly formulate an alternative and progressive aviation policy,” said Carrivick.
BAR UK represents some 86 airlines, including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Bmi.
