Long delays are expected at UK airports for arriving passengers as immigration staff are set to go on strike.
Heathrow has warned that it could take 12 hours for passengers to clear immigration.
Etihad Airways has cancelled three of its flights into London Heathrow on Wednesday (November 30) “to spare the airline’s guests the expected disruption”.
Abu Dhabi-London Flights EY019 and EY017 and flight EY020 from LHR-AUH will not operate, with passengers being rebooked onto alternative flights.
In addition, flight EY011 will operate with a reduced passenger capacity.
Etihad’s flights to Manchester, however, will operate as scheduled.
Emirates has also cancelled flights on Wednesday; EK029 from Dubai to Heathrow and EK030 from Heathrow to Dubai will not operate.
British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Cathay Pacific, United Continental and American Airlines have contacted passengers, offering them the opportunity to rebook their flights on alternative days free of charge.
Heathrow has said it is “very concerned” by the prospect of the strike and is recommending that passengers check the status of their flights with their airlines before travelling to the airport.
