Japanese airline ANA is to launch a direct Tokyo-Brussels service, starting in autumn.
The daily flight, subject to government approval, will be ANA’s first route to Brussels and sixth destination to Europe.
The Belgium capital will be ANA’s third new destination this year, with Houston launching June 12 and Kuala Lumpur starting September 1.
An ANA spokesperson confirmed the service will run into 2016 but a schedule has yet to be confirmed.
“We are proud to be introducing the only flight between Brussels and Japan starting this autumn, and look forward to working with our Star Alliance partners to welcome even more travellers from Europe to Japan and Asia, as Japan increasingly becomes a popular destination in Belgium,” said ANA president and CEO Osamu Shinobe.
“We hope to play a role in strengthening the bond between Japan and Belgium and forging new business opportunities in the future.”
ANA won Best Long-Haul airline at this year’s Business Travel Awards.
