More than 330 ABTN readers said they disagreed with the Scottish airport's plans to introduce a £1 fee, for cars dropping off passengers directly to the airport.
The figure represented 89% of voters on ABTN, who said they were against the introduction of drop-off fees at Edinburgh airport .
Nearly 5,500 people have also signed a petition against the BAA-owned airport introducing drop-off charges.
Conservative MSP Gavin Brown launched the petition in July, saying BAA's plans to introduce the charge were "plain mean".
"Many of my constituents are deeply unhappy about BAA's decision to charge drivers £1 to simply drop someone off at the airport," said Brown.
"For a lot of people getting public transport to the airport is not a viable option. I have been contacted by elderly residents and constituents with young children who don't have an alternative way of getting to the airport."
Construction of the new drop off point has started, with the new to be introduced in October this year.
A BAA spokesman told ABTN: "We think it's the right thing to do. Our current drop-off area isn't fit for purpose.
"It needs to be fixed and expanded ans we believe by creating two new drop-off areas, on eclose to the terminal, which involves a £1 charge, and another free drop-off area which is a bit further away, will reduce congestion and make it a better facility for our passengers."
