Yotel will open its latest property in Amsterdam Noord on 4 November, marking the brand’s debut in mainland Europe.
The 202-cabin hotel is located in the city’s Buiksloterham neighbourhood on the banks of the Tolhuis Canal. It features an all-day restaurant and bar, alfresco waterside deck and an outdoor cinema.
Cabins – or guest rooms – at the property are equipped with Yotel’s adjustable SmartBeds with gel memory foam mattresses, amenities from Urban Skincare, rain showers, adjustable mood lighting, free wuper-fast wifi and HD Smart TVs with Chromecast.
Guests will have use of the hotel’s Komyuniti social space and restaurant, which will offer a menu of both small and large plates, sharing platters and snacks with ingredients sourced from local partners, as well as coffee from speciality roaster Workshop Coffee. Komyuniti will also run a programme of neighbourhood events such as yoga and running clubs along with film screenings at the outdoor cinema.
Developed by Being Development and designed by Studioninedots, Yotel says the property also features a water system which collects, stores, filters and recycles water, as well as energy-saving LED lighting and sensors to ensure lights are turned off when not in use. Outside, guests who arrive by electric car will be able to charge their vehicles at one of ten charging points.
Additional amenities include self-service kiosks, a 24/7 gym, bicycle and e-bike rental service and space for mooring boats.
Yotel Amsterdam Noord is the second city centre property in Europe following the opening of Edinburgh New Town in July and complements the company’s Yotelair at Amsterdam Schiphol. The brand has further openings in Port, Glasgow and London scheduled for 2020.
