Courtyard by Marriot Kristiansund in Norway and courtyard by Marriott Stockholm-Kungsholmen are the first of 15 hotels expected to open through to 2013 with Scandinavian Hospitality Group (SHG).
The first of the two hotels will be located northwest of Oslo.
Kristiansund is a fishing port and has become a major oil and gas centre, with Shell, Statoil and Norsk Hydro all having offices in the city.
The hotel will be connected to the airport via a covered walkway and is close to the town centre.
Recreational amenities will be available from the hotel this will include a fitness centre and kiosk, as well as an internet corner.
For hotel social events and conferences the hotel will have 87 sq m (285 sq ft) of function space. A 650 sq m ballroom will be divisible into three sections. Another four meeting rooms will also be added.
”The Marriott product and its standards will bring innovation into the Scandinavian market,” said SHG president Harald Jacobsen. ”These two courtyards are the first out and they will soon be a part of an even bigger Marriott branded hotel family in Scandinavia.”
The second hotel is located in Sweden, where more than 300 companies are located in Kungsholmen, including the international headquarters of corporations such as Electrolux, Pharmacia and Ericsson.
The property is a short walk from major leisure attractions and Arlanda airport and Bromma airport are both accessible from the hotel.
Available amenities are similar to the Kristiansund; however, the Kungsholmen will have 892 sq m of function space including a 657 sq m ballroom that can again be divided into three sections.
