Emirates on Thursday (1 October) commenced a new daily service between Dubai and Helsinki.
The route, first announced in January, is the only direct, year-round service between Finland and the UAE, according to Emirates.
Flights depart Dubai at 8:15am and arrive at Helsinki Airport at 2:30pm local time. The return service departs Helsinki at 4:20pm and arrives in Dubai at 12:20am the following day.
The route will be operated with Airbus A350 aircraft featuring the carrier’s latest onboard product across business, premium economy and economy cabins.
Emirates said the daily service has been scheduled “to ensure smooth onward connections” and is expected to “unlock new leisure, corporate and trade opportunities” for both countries.
Petri Vuori, senior vice president of route development at Finavia, which operates Helsinki Airport, said the daily service is “a significant addition” to Finland’s international connectivity. “Strong air connectivity is essential for Finnish businesses, international trade, tourism and investment,” he said.
