European companies and their business travellers want hotels to make WiFi and bottled water free-of-charge in all properties.
A survey of 4,000 consumers conducted by finance consultancy Deloitte found that the desire for free internet and water was unanimous. Respondents were asked to provide a wish list of hotel services and facilities.
Marvin Rust, the company’s hospitality managing partner, said: “WiFi and free bottled water were by far the preferred options.”
Paul Tilstone, chief executive of the Institute of Travel and Meetings, said he was not surprised by the findings.
He told ABTN:“What is clear from the Deloitte’s research and from what our members tell us, is that buyers and travellers want extra value from suppliers and those that provide it will do well against their competitors.”
