Staycity Aparthotels has opened a new property within one of Manchester’s iconic buildings.
The Dublin-based apartment specialist has opened Staycity Manchester Piccadilly in Gateway House, a modernist 1960s building also known locally as Lazy S which has been empty since 2010.
It is Staycity’s second location in Manchester – it already has a property at Laystall Street.
The new property, located next to Manchester’s Piccadilly rail station, features 182 apartments, ranging from one to three bedrooms, plus a cafe, lounge, gym, car park and four meeting rooms available for hire.
Tom Walsh, CEO of Staycity Aparthotels, said: “This is an important opening for Staycity as the building is a well-known landmark in Manchester – the first sight of the city visitors have when they arrive by train to Manchester Piccadilly.
“We are delighted to be part of the regeneration of this unusual and striking building.”
Staycity now has more than 1,400 apartments across 10 cities in the UK, Ireland and France, including Birmingham, Dublin, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Paris and York.
