Sonder Holdings has launched a dedicated chain code, SS, in the Amadeus and Sabre distribution platforms, the short-term accommodation provider announced on Wednesday.
Sonder partnered with electronic hotel transaction processor RateGain Travel Technologies Ltd. on the move, which is expected to strengthen the company’s global distribution system presence and simplify search processes for agents utilising Amadeus and Sabre.
“Partnering with Sonder will give their inventory the broadest exposure to all distribution channels, including the top GDS platforms, at a time when demand for corporate travel is rebounding, and business travellers are seeking new accommodation options,” RateGain president for the Americas Chinmai Sharma said in a statement.
The news follows word of Sonder’s steady quarterly growth, with active corporate accounts rising in the second quarter to nearly 400 from 250 in the previous quarter. Capturing the rebounding corporate market will be key to growth for the hospitality company, which in June cut 21 per cent of its corporate workers and 7 per cent of its front-line staff.
Sonder’s properties span more than 40 markets, including London, Paris, Dubai, Toronto, New York City, and Philadelphia, with hotel- and apartment-style accommodations for short or long-term stays for business travellers and groups.
