The major business travel story at the Business Travel Show never broke.
Shangri-La, Hong Kong-based, and outstanding amongst a whole assemblage of top quality five star hotels established in the Far East, announced today its first step into Europe, a sensational property within a new building called London Bridge Tower.
Designed by leading international architect Renzo Piano the 66-storey structure, for which planning permission has been granted, will comprise shops, offices, residential, viewing galleries, leisure offerings, a public piazza and the hotel.
Construction is expected commence shortly with completion by 2009, well in time for the London Olympics. Whilst clearly most guests will use taxis the hotel is directly connected to the new London Eurostar terminal at St Pancras by Thameslink.
