Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, the leading luxury hotel group, is to open a brand new hotel in the capital Ulaanbaatar at the end of 2007. It will be the country”s first hotel by an international hotel group. A joint venture between Shangri-La Asia Limited and a local company, the 190-room property will be a part of an office, retail and hotel complex, which is located at the east side of the Sukhe-Bator Square, between the City Theatre and Peace Avenue, in the centre of Ulaanbaatar city. The meeting and banqueting facilities will include a 1,200-square-metre grand ballroom, and 640 square metres of function rooms. Recreational facilities such as indoor swimming pool, health club and spa, will also be available.
