Queensferry Hotel near Edinburgh is targeting business travellers having completed a ”1.8m ($3.6m) refurbishment by parent company Folio Hotels, to extend its range of meeting facilities.
As part of Folio Hotels” programme of investing in renovations to its portfolio of four-star properties in the UK, Queensferry has focussed on attracting corporate clientele in the Scottish business community and created a dedicated meeting centre with four air-conditioned, self-contained areas for up to 60 delegates.
All meeting areas at the hotel include wireless internet connection, LCD projectors, microphones and lecterns, overhead projectors and fax and photocopying facilities.
Located 9mi (15km) from Edinburgh Airport just across the Forth Road Bridge in North Queensferry, the hotel offers 77 guestrooms, 47 of which were built only seven years ago and the remaining 30 have all been upgraded as part of the refurbishment programme.
Further work involves ongoing improvements to the Cochrane Function Suite, including the installation of air conditioning, due to be completed by the end of this year. It has all the amenities for hosting conferences and private functions, with a capacity for up to 140 delegates.
Folio Hotels has currently invested some ”45m in upgrades to its portfolio, with other properties in Scotland soon to commence refurbishments: the recently acquired Ballachulish Hotel near Glencoe, the Isles of Glencoe Hotel and the Caledonian in Oban.
