Rocco Forte has announced 4 October as the opening date for its third property in Germany " The Charles Hotel in Munich - named in honour of Sir Rocco Forte"s father, renowned hotelier, Lord Charles Forte.
Located on the edge of Munich"s Botanical Gardens in an area known as Lenbach G"rten, the hotel is near to the main Hauptbahnhof train station and 28mi (45km) from Josef Strauss airport.
The "71.5m ("48.4m) new-build, eight-storey hotel houses a total of 160 rooms, with a minimum size of 40sq m (131sq ft), suites between 48sq m and 70sq m and one presidential suite measuring 100sq m.
Meeting facilities include seven conference rooms equipped with the latest in audio visual technology and all with natural light, as well as a ballroom accommodating up to 400 for a drinks reception.
The hotel also offers an Italian restaurant with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Botanical Gardens, with a terrace for outdoor dining and a private function room. A large spa with sauna, swimming pool, gym and five treatment rooms is also available on site.
A relatively new entrant into the German market, Rocco Forte opened its first two properties in the country last year " Villa Kennedy, Frankfurt, in March and Hotel du Rome, Berlin, in October.
