Brussels-based hotel group, Rezidor, is to take over management of Glasgow”s Langs hotel on 15 June, with plans to re-brand the property Park Inn Glasgow City Centre from 1 October.
Situated in central Glasgow within reach of the city”s Central and Queen St stations, the property has 100 rooms in a range of shapes and sizes ” from a standard room to a studio or split level ideal for longer stay guests, as well as suites ” and all feature free wi-fi internet access.
However, in keeping with the Park Inn brand identity, all rooms will be re-furbished with Park Inn signature d”cor and divided between standard and executive class. The hotel also has a restaurant with private dining facilities for up to 50 delegates, a bar, fitness centre, spa and meeting facilities.
”The hotel is a perfect addition to our existing new breed Radisson SAS Hotel in Glasgow and an important step for our further development in Scotland,” said Rezidor president and CEO, Kurt Ritter.
The company is to further its Park Inn presence in the UK with a new-build hotel in Manchester, opening 2009, as part of its drive to open 20,000 additional rooms within the next two years. Located within the new Greenquarter Development opposite the Manchester Evening News Arena, it will have 252 guest rooms.
”Manchester is an important and strategic location in the north-west of the UK,” said Ritter, adding: ”The city”s development during the last ten years has been outstanding ” in 2003, Manchester was even awarded for the best structural change of a European city by the European Union.”
