Rezidor has opened its new-build Radisson SAS hotel in Dublin ” the company”s 11th property in Ireland ” and awarded it membership to the most luxurious brand, SAS Royal.
Located at the crossroads of Golden Lane and Chancery Lane, adjacent to Dublin Castle, the hotel is a short walk from the city”s business and commercial districts. It offers 150 rooms, including Business Class and Junior Suites, all of which are equipped with complementary high-speed wireless internet connection.
There are 15 state-of-the-art, flexible meeting rooms and a ballroom with pre-function area that caters for 400 delegates. A 7th floor bar with private lift access can also be hired as an exclusive meeting venue and offers panoramic views over Dublin city centre.
Dining options include an all-day lounge and French-style brasserie, Verres de Vers, which seats 100 guests for buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner.
”This hotel is an excellent addition to our existing Irish portfolio,” said Rezidor Hotel Group president and CEO, Kurt Ritter. ”Its location could not be more perfect ” literally in the heart of the city, a few minutes stroll from all shops, theatres and the main business districts.”
Although there are no specific criteria needed for a hotel to become an SAS Royal property, with only seven of the brand in Rezidor”s portfolio of some 155 Radisson SAS hotels, it is certainly an exclusive title.
The Dublin establishment is the first SAS Royal in the UK and Ireland, with other locations including Copenhagen, Brussels, St Petersburg and Bergen.
Rezidor has an agreement with Carlson Hotels for the franchising rights of Radisson, Regent, Country Inns & Suites and Park Inn brands in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Although the SAS Group no longer has any shares in Rezidor, (see ABTN 30 May), the companies have agreed to retain the SAS name and phase it out gradually.
