Q Hotels has invested £45,000 into the launch of new bedrooms aimed at business travellers.
The UK hotel group surveyed 3,000 guests to find out what business guests most wanted: wifi access and a king-size bed.
In response, Q Hotels has fitted out 17 of its 21 properties with the new Q Star bedrooms, and is hoping business travellers will pay a supplement of around £30 to stay in them.
As well as the aforementioned free internet and big bed, the rooms also come with tea, coffee, snacks, complimentary drinks and a morning newspaper.
Q Hotels hopes the new room category will encourage more business traveller bookings.
Vivien Sirotkin, QHotels’ director of operations, said: “We have launched this new level of bedroom in response to feedback.
“We know that our corporate guests want a real home from home when staying with us.”
Other investments in 2010 include the opening of a new private lounge at The Queens in Leeds, and the opening of The Petersfield function suite at The Midland, Manchester.
