Movenpick, the Swiss hotel group with properties in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, has opened its second property in Qatar”s capital city, Doha. The five-star, 26-storey M”venpick Tower & Suites Doha has 350 rooms, and is primarily targeted at business travellers.
The new hotel is in the rapidly-expanding district of West Bay Area, 15 minutes by car from Doha Airport. All rooms are fitted with an internet protocol network, which enables direct access to wake-up calls, concierge services, express check-out and video on demand. LAN wireless internet connection is available throughout the hotel.
Conference and banquet facilities include four meeting rooms, a 220 sq m (722 sq ft) multi-purpose hall named ”Zurich”, and a business centre. The latest audio-visual technology is available on request. Relaxation facilities overlook the Arabian Gulf, with an indoor pool, fitness centre, massage rooms and beauty salon.
Four restaurants are available at the hotel: ”Animato”, offers international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner; ”Wok Mee” is on the ground floor and offers contemporary Asian food; ”Lime Caf” is for light snacks and drinks and is adjacent to the hotel lobby; and for views over the Gulf there is ”Bay View 26” on the 26th floor, offering Mediterranean and Lebanese dishes.
