Swiss international hotel chain, Movenpick Hotels & Resorts, has ended its management contract with property owners, Arab World Egypt Air Hotels, following disputes concerning quality and management structure.
”Unfortunately, we could not agree on market positioning and management rights and so had no choice but to end our longstanding cooperation,” said Movenpick CEO, Jean Gabriel P”r”s.
A spokesperson for Movenpick told ABTN: ”Our goal is to offer the same standard across all of our hotels, and the Cairo-Heliopolis was not at that standard. We had discussions to find a solution, such as refurbishments, but the owner did not agree.”
Senior vice president Africa, Josef Kufer, remarked: ”We are currently repositioning ourselves in Egypt and aim to offer our guests the same high standards of quality and service in all our hotels.
”We are now at an advanced stage of negotiations with several potential partners, who have shown considerable interest in cooperating with Movenpick Hotels & Resorts. We are confident that we shall soon have the opportunity to announce major new projects within Egypt.”
