Marriott International expects to operate 11 hotels in Beijing to help accommodate the two million visitors expected to visit the city for the 2008 Olympics, while by year-end 2010, another 20 hotels are scheduled to open in China.
”With 18 brands globally, we have the broadest lodging and timeshare portfolio in the world, and by year-end 2009, we expect to reach a total of nearly 600,000 rooms, including 120,000 outside the U.S.” said chairman and CEO, J W Marriott.
Also opening will be the 305-room The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing, located in the one of Beijing”s most prestigious addresses, China Central Place.
Innovations, new designs and guest services have also been introduced across many of the company brands. In addition, the brands offer the ”plug in” a connectivity panel that allows guests to turn the 32” flat-screen TV into a personal entertainment centre.
Hotel Beijing will have five restaurants and lounges for dining and entertainment, while the Quan spa will offer shower treatments and private hot tubs.
China Central Place includes more than 230, 000 sq m of high-end office space; eight residential towers; 160, 000 sq m of luxury-brand retail shops and a sports centre.
