Marriott International is to bring its luxury brand, JW Marriott, to Kazakhstan next year with the opening of a 215-room hotel and 419-unit JW Marriott Residence properties in Almaty, under a management contract with Capital Tower Development.
Situated in the centre of the city, both the hotel and residential buildings form an integral part of a 309,800sq m development project, Esentai Park, on Al-Farabi Street. The hotel will occupy most of the upper half of a 37-storey Esentai Park Tower, which will also house 21,000sq m of prime office space, two penthouse apartments and parking.
Hotel amenities include an executive level and lounge and 40 one-, two- and three-bedroom serviced apartments for longer staying guests. A business centre, 24-hour room service and laundry/valet service will also be available, in addition to indoor swimming pool and health club facilities.
For conferences and events, the property will provide 3,286sq m of space, including a 2,486sq m ballroom, divisible by six sections, three meeting rooms of various configurations and a boardroom.
Esentai Park will also include a 14,200sq m fitness club, a 1,350sq m spa facility and a 34,900sq m shopping centre. The 419 for-sale condominiums will be divided into as many as three separate buildings within the complex, ranging from one to five bedrooms and all with concierge service, business centre amenities and on-site restaurant.
Almaty is currently the largest city in Kazakhstan and the country”s commercial, educational and scientific centre. Its international airport, Almaty International, is 25-minutes from the JW Marriott hotel and offers links to key cities in Europe, Africa and other destinations in Asia.
Other Marriott properties in Kazakhstan include the Renaissance Aktau Hotel and Renaissance Atyrau Hotel, also full-service, quality tier properties. Under development is a 160-unit Marriott Executive Apartments in Atyrau, expected to open later this year, offering business travel accommodation for a period of 30 days or more.
