InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has entered into a partnership with mobile navigation system company Navigon, whereby hotel locations will be highlighted on the GPS screen. IHG hotels, which include the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands, will be flagged up on the Navigon systems in the UK, Ireland and Continental Europe.
IHG vice president marketing and revenue EMEA Colin Roy commented on the new initiative: ”This new partnership between IHG and Navigon is an excellent opportunity to give IHG”s brands even greater visibility across the UK, Ireland and Europe. This extremely exciting initiative emphasises our commitment to maximising the guest experience not just within, but travelling to, our hotels.”
To test out the new technology, and celebrate the partnership between Holiday Inn and General Motors, InterContinental have sent three teams to travel from London to Berlin. They are driving VXR Vauxhall Astras with Vauxhall”s British Touring Car team livery, which Holiday Inn is sponsoring (see picture).
