Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) plans to open a hotel in Brooklyn, New York in early 2010.
The property will be the second Hotel Indigo in the New York metropolitan area and is to accommodate a rapidly growing segment of business and leisure travellers to the area.
Located minutes away from the MetroTech centre, court buildings and the Manhattan Bridge, the 164-room building will feature more than 15, 000 sq feet (1,390sq m) of retail space, a meeting space for business functions and special events, a 24-hour business centre, high-speed internet access in all guest rooms and wireless connectivity in the hotel”s public areas. It will also have a gourmet restaurant and bar.
The property is owned by V3 Hotels and will be managed by Graves World Hospitality under a license agreement with a company in the IHG.
”Commencing construction on our second Hotel Indigo in New York alongside a dedicated ownership group like V3 hotels is a major milestone for the brand,” said Hotel Indigo senior vice president, brand management, Jim Anhut.
IHG says its Indigo chain is the industry”s ”first branded boutique hotel experience, for guests who desire affordable luxury, personal service and an alternative to traditional hotels without sacrificing any of the business amenities they have come to expect.”
