Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the opening of its 20th property, Intercontinental Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia.
The 120-guest room hotel is located close to the business and commercial centre.
”Opening our 20th property in Saudi Arabia represents the group”s commitment to Saudi Arabia as a vitally important destination for both domestic and international travellers,” said IHG”s Middle East and Africa chief operating officer, John Bamsey.
A Club Intercontinental floor is located at the top of the hotel which has a private check-in facility. At the Club lounge guests can enjoy snacks and refreshments throughout the day, looking out at Al Khobar city and sea from the terrace.
Business travellers have access to a board-style meeting room and a fully-equipped business centre with secretarial services. In-house conference facilities include five meeting rooms with state-of-the-art video, audio and telecommunications equipment for corporate clients.
In addition, the hotel”s leisure facilities include a temperature controlled roof-top swimming pool, spa with sauna and steam rooms.
IHG has recently opened its 150th hotel at Dubai Festival City and as of 31 December 2007, the group has 62 hotels in the global development pipeline, of which 11 properties and 3,313 rooms were in the Middle East and Africa region.
