InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) is bringing its extended stay business traveller brand, Staybridge Suites, to Liverpool in time for the city”s tenure as European Capital of Culture 2008.
Due to open early next year, the hotel will form part of the Kings Waterfront ” formerly Kings Dock ” which is the largest single development site in the city and will include a newly-built arena, convention centre and exhibition facilities, as well as a combination of residential, hotel, office, retail and leisure services.
The Staybridge Suites Liverpool, will comprise 132 fully-equipped one bedroom and studio suites, all with modern interior design that aims to create a ”home from home” atmosphere for the business traveller who will typically be a guest for five or more nights, although there is no minimum stay requirement.
All rooms have fully functional kitchen facilities and as with all Staybridge Suites-branded hotels, there are public areas such as a Hub Kitchen, living room with open fire, pantry, 24-hour mini general store and a terrace with barbeque.
”I am delighted that we have signed the third contract in the UK to bring the Staybridge Suites concept to Liverpool,” said vice president Staybridge Suites EMEA, John Wagner.
”The city is an economic hub with a diversity of local and international business and industry, so we are confident that long-term business travellers will be attracted by accommodation specifically designed for their needs ” the comforts of a hotel with the convenience of a hotel.”
Other Staybridge Suites for the UK portfolio will soon be opening in Brentford and London”s South Bank, with contracts also signed in Birmingham and Newcastle. Click here to read the story.
