Lufthansa Group is extending the rollout of Starlink high-speed wifi across its airlines after an initial launch at its flagship Lufthansa brand in August.
The aviation group said the first Airbus A320neo aircraft operated by Austrian Airlines and Swiss have now been equipped with Starlink's satellite technology.
By the end of the current winter schedule, the high-speed service will be available on 20 Austrian Airlines aircraft. A further three Swiss-operated A380s will be equipped with the technology “in the coming months”.
The group announced in January that it had struck a deal with Elon Musk’s satellite company Starlink to equip 850 aircraft with the internet service. Lufthansa has since said the service would be installed across all of its airlines’ fleets by 2029.
