Global Hyatt Corporation is to open another hotel in Shanghai this August - its seventh in China - situated on the western banks of the Huangpu River.
Hyatt on the Bund was designed by US-based design company Remedios Siembieda - creator of projects such as the Grand Hyatt Tokyo and Park Hyatt Beijing ” and the building is angled so that all guestrooms feature spectacular views over the river.
The 631-room property includes 52 suites and is split between its two towers, West and East. All rooms have floor to ceiling windows, rotating flat-screen TVs, DVD players and high-speed wired and wireless broadband internet connection.
An innovative bathroom concept will be introduced at the hotel, where guests can choose between an open plan set-up or close the bathroom off for a more conventional, divided space.
Extensive meeting and function space will be available at the hotel, with 1,859sq m (20,064sq ft) dedicated to conferences and events. The area includes two ballrooms with outdoor terraces and a capacity of 560 and 260 respectively; a circular Glasshouse with an outdoor courtyard; and nine multi-purpose meeting rooms of various sizes.
All function rooms are equipped with the latest audio-visual equipment and internet connections and for guests staying on the Bund Club executive floors there is access to four additional boardrooms.
”With the Grand Hyatt Shanghai in the heart of the Pudong Financial district and ourselves near the key Puxi entertainment hubs, we”re proud that we”re going to be the first top-tier hotel group to own both sides of the river,” said the hotel general manager, Ronald Kong.
