Rezidor Hotel Group has opened the second of its fashion hotels, nearly two years after the brand’s debut in Edinburgh.
The new Hotel Missoni is located in the shopping district of Kuwait, the boutique emporium the Symphony Centre.
The first under Rezidor’s tie-up with fashion house Missoni opened in Edinburgh in June 2009.
The new 169-room Kuwait hotel features extensive meeting space, a gym, steam room, sauna and pool. Wireless internet access is available throughout the property.
Kurt Ritter, Rezidor’s CEO, said: “Opening a Hotel Missoni here is a true celebration for our company, as it was in Kuwait where we once opened our first international hotel outside Scandinavia.
“A combination of design, lifestyle and technology will bring a unique lifestyle experience - as soon as you walk through the doors, you’ll know it’s Missoni.”
It design, overseen by creative director Rosita Missoni, combines the fashion brand’s signature vibrant patterns and bold colour – turquoise, green and gold can be seen throughout the hotel.
Dining options include Italian restaurant Cucina, fusion restaurant Luna, the Pool Bar for continental cuisine, and Choco Café for light snacks.
A 1500 sqm spa is due to open later this year, with 10 treatment rooms, separate male and female hammams, two yoga studios relaxation areas and a juice bar.
Hotel Missoni currently has three hotels in the pipeline, and is looking to expand further. Properties in Oman, Brazil and Turkey are due to open in 2013.
