Hotel Indigo, the luxury boutique brand launched by InterContinental in 2004, is to add a further four hotels to its portfolio in the US. The locations for the new properties will be Ashburn, Chantilly, Herndon Va, and Linthicum Md, and all are due to open by the end of 2008.
The four properties will all have 100-200 rooms with complimentary wireless access throughout. There will also be meeting and function facilities, with each hotel offering services appropriate for the local market ” for example the Herndon hotel will include a 10,000sq.ft. spa and pool area.
In order to remain individual and break away from a generic hotel group style, the boutique brand has introduced ”Interpret Indigo”. The concept allows developers of Indigo properties to introduce their own designs, whilst maintaining the Hotel Indigo branding.
The chain currently has six properties, all in the US. The brand has 20 hotels in development, including locations such as New York, Las Vegas, San Diego and Baltimore.
The company commented: ”We are believe this brand to be the future in mature, high-barrier markets. Fast-growing, near-urban markets like the four we have identified in the Baltimore-Washington DC metropolitan area are an ideal setting for Hotel Indigo”s unique and inspired concept.”
