Hilton is to bring its mid-market Garden Inn brand to the UK with the opening of a hotel in Luton North next year, located in Butterfield Business Park.
”This first Hilton Garden Inn signing signals a new era for Hilton in the UK and as Luton is an important business hub with a large population centre, good access to a growing airport and easy distance to the sights and sounds of London, the launch of the upper mid-market Hilton Garden Inn in this location is sure to be a success,” said Hilton area president, UK and Ireland, Simon Vincent.
Although primarily a US brand with properties in Canada and Mexico, Garden Inn made inroads into the European market late last year with hotels in Germany (Stuttgart) and Italy (Florence and Rome Airport).
There are plans to expand Garden Inn throughout Europe and the UK is a key market, as Vincent explained: ”We are excited about the development opportunity and look forward to further announcements for Hilton Garden Inn across the UK and Ireland. We have plans to open 20 Hilton Garden Inn hotels in the next four to five years.”
All 155 guest rooms in the hotel will feature amenities in keeping with the brand identity such as complimentary wi-fi access, spacious work desk, air conditioning and LCD satellite TV. Public areas include a restaurant, lounge with library, bar with plasma screen TV, hospitality centre with microwave, mini fridge and coffee machine and a Pavilion Pantry general shop.
Business travellers will also benefit from a range of flexible meeting spaces including a 24-hour business centre, boardroom and meeting room, as well as a fitness centre and on-site parking.
