Hilton's Garden Inn has opened the first of 11 planned hotels in Turkey, in the city of Kutahya.
Adrian Kurre, Global Head, Hilton Garden Inn, said the "upscale offering at affordable prices" would prove popular in Turkey, as the country needs an "affordable internationally branded accommodations, especially in regional centres like Kutahya".
The 121-room hotel is located in the city centre. There is a restaurant, the Sumac Grill, and the 24-hour Pavilion Pantry, plus a gym, business centre, event space for up to 245 delegates and free internet access.
Rooms feature the Garden Sleep System bed, a coffee maker, microwave and fridge.
Historically, Kutahya was known for its kiln industry, but more recently the city has become a centre for sugar refining, mining and agriculture.
The Hilton group plans to double its nine hotels (eight Hilton and one Conrad) in Turkey by the end of 2011, with new properties in Sanliurfa, Konya, Mardin, Istanbul Bostanci, Diyarbakir, Manisa, Bursa, Golden Horn, Corlu and Corum.
