Hilton Hotels Corporation (HHC) has announced it has signed a major franchise, launching the first of a series of Hampton by Hilton hotels in the UK.
The first UK Hampton by Hilton and Europe hotels are expected to open by late September, October 2008, in Corby North in the Midlands.
With 86 guestrooms the hotel will be located on the new Rockingham Leisure Park in Corby, which is part of a multi-million pound regeneration scheme for the town.
”Corby North was chosen as the first site as it”s a vibrant and growing community and the population of Corby is anticipated to double in the next 25 years.” said Ramesh Dewan, who is funding the project.
Complementary high-speed internet access and a hot breakfast will be included as part of the ”100% satisfaction guaranteed” by Hampton by Hilton.
”The introduction of the Hampton by Hilton brand is an important aspect of our strategic ambition.” said Hilton president of the UK and Ireland, Simon Vincent.
”Franchise agreements, such as this will allow us to deliver greater scale for the brand more quickly. We currently have 75 hotels across the UK and Ireland, comprising the Hilton and Conrad brands and we look forward to doubling this figure in ten years.”
HCC currently has more than 1,500 Hampton hotels with more than 140,000 rooms worldwide.
