Marriott International has reopened one of Ireland”s most famous hotels as The Shelbourne Dublin, A Renaissance Hotel.
The 265-bedroom property, along with 19 suites named after famous guests who have had a long association with the hotel, has been totally restored and features an opening rate of ”315 ($418) per night.
For the business traveller, the hotel”s ballroom has been expanded to host events and meetings and cater for up to 350 guests at dinner, while 12 other conference and banqueting suites will be available. A business centre is also on site.
After work, the hotel”s Horseshoe Bar and Lord Mayor”s Lounge have also been restored, while another bar, Number 27 has been added, as well as a new restaurant, The Saddle Room.
The Shelbourne returned to Irish ownership in 2004, when a consortium of Irish businessmen bought the property and guests can participate in Marriott Rewards, the programme that awards points or airline miles for every dollar spent.
General manager is Liam Doyle, while Anne Marie Whelan is director of sales and marketing.
