Conrad Hotels, Hilton”s global luxury brand, is to open another property in China next year in Shanghai. The 362-room hotel will be the brand”s third in the country following developments in Hong Kong and Beijing.
”When people think of luxury accommodation in Shanghai, they will think of Conrad,” said Hilton Hotels Corporation president and COO, Matthew Hart.
”A combination of unrivalled design and the famous Conrad commitment to individualised service will make Conrad Shanghai the benchmark for luxury hotels in China.”
Located in the heart of Xintiandi district, close to the central Puxi area, the new-build property forms part of extensive revitalisation and development projects that are currently underway throughout the city in preparation for the World Expo in 2010.
Hotel amenities include a spa, meeting facilities with state-of-the-art equipment and two stand alone annexes, housing drinking, dining and recreational services.
Despite competition from leading brands such as Hilton, Hyatt, Ramada Plaza, Four Seasons, Shangri-La, JW Marriott and, from this summer, Park Plaza, the property owner, Shanghai Li Xing Hotel Company chairman, Leo Koguan, remains confident of the hotel”s success.
”We are excited to work with Hilton and are delighted to work with the prestigious Conrad brand to deliver a hotel where guests can truly be themselves,” he said.
