1,000 new properties added to GDS
Travel technology provider Amadeus has signed a deal with Carlson Hotels Worldwide which will see more than 1,000 properties added to its global distribution service (GDS).
Amadeus said the "Direct Connect" will give travel agents and Carlson's five hotel brands "a more accurate booking process."
"Carlson Hotels has always valued its relationship with the travel agent community," said Christine Brosnahan, vp of distribution and reservation services for Carlson Hotels.
"Having a direct connection will enable us to add content on a timelier basis and provide functionality that travel agents seek to enable an easier selling process.
"Direct Connect provides us the opportunity to communicate more directly to this important partner while growing our presence globally."
Ms Brosnahan also highlighted a new loyalty system for agents booking via Amadeus and a centrally funded process for timely commission payment.
Carlson's brands include Regent, Radisson, Park Plaza and Park Inn hotels, and Country Inns & Suites by Carlson, covering 74 countries.
The Carlson group also owns Carlson Wagonlit Travel, a global travel management company (TMC).
