An industry group for women who head London’s best hotels or hold senior hospitality roles in the capital has been launched.
Leading Ladies of London has been set up by three general managers, Debrah Dhugga of Dukes London; Anna-Marie Dowling of Guoman’s The Royal Horseguards Hotel and Theresa Maw of Renaissance Chancery Court Hotel. The three have launched the group as an industry think-tank and as a voice for women in similar roles. It is also planned to mentor future stars of the industry, which has traditionally been male-dominated.
Dhugga said: “We’re not suggesting that it is any more difficult for women to reach the top within London hospitality, as we’re living examples of those that have been successful – it’s just less common to see a female GM than a male in that position.”
Membership is offered to those who head five-star hotels in the capital or who are “leading female thinkers and figures in the hospitality industry”.
