GATWICK”S north terminal Le M”ridien hotel, has been acquired from Compass Group by Arora International who already has a property in the nearby town of Crawley, as well as in the Bath Road and Colnbrooke near Heathrow. Managed by Le M”ridien since 1997, the 500 - room hotel is directly connected to the terminal building. It will continue under its present guise until later in the year, when it becomes a Sofitel. Arora intends to substantially refurbish the property in the next two years. The new hotel at Heathrow T5 is also owned by Arora and likewise will be branded Sofitel when it opens in 2008.
