Business travellers want the best of both worlds when it comes to booking travel, an American Express survey has concluded.
A global study of 1,000 frequent travellers found that the majority prefered to book online but wanted access to agents 24 hours a day while they were actually away.
A total of 55% expressed a preference for booking on the web, but 46% said they were more likely to turn to an agent for help in changing travel plans when on the road.
An overwhelming majority – 81% – said they did not care in which country the agent was situated.
The results have prompted American Express to launch a new service option, Universal aXcess, which combines agent and online services.
