Accor has extended its distribution agreement with Amadeus to include the US and Canada hotel chains Motel 6 and Studio 6.
The addition of the combined brands’ 1,100 properties onto the Global Distribution System allows the two chains to target customers outside North America. Motel 6 is a budget hotel chain, while Studio 6 targets extended stay business travellers. The two brands offer more than 100,000 rooms.
Motel 6 offers free local phone calls, no long distance access charges, free morning coffee and expanded cable channel TV offering. Most locations offer Wi-Fi Internet access, swimming pools and guest laundry facilities.
Studio 6 specialises in affordable furnished studios with hotel amenities. They are located in major business complexes.
Ludovic DuPont, Accor’s vice president, travel agencies distribution, said: “For us, this is all about gaining access to the international traveller market. We want to be available through the best, most comprehensive GDS for each region as we seek to promote our budget and extended stay offerings to travellers around the world. Amadeus was the obvious choice to make this happen.”
