Re-branded as Broadway 49 Times Square, InterContinental Group”s Times Crowne Plaza hotel has unveiled a major $85 million renovation.
Not actually in Times Square, the hotel lies just one block to the north on Broadway between 48th and 49th Streets, the 46-storey, 770-room property, including a butler floor and what is claimed to be the largest indoor hotel swimming pool in New York.
The Butler Floor is outstanding ” a first in the Times Square area. Located on the 46th level this offers really spacious accommodation including complimentary private transportation to and from airports, in-room check-in/check-out, packing/unpacking services, laundry pressing and even dry cleaning.
Also featured is the Crown Plaza Club designed as a "hotel within a hotel" for those who enjoy a more personalized and exclusive service. The lounge has breathtaking midtown views and offers complimentary continental breakfast, afternoon snacks, and evening hors d'oeuvres daily. Coffee and tea, including cappuccino and espresso, are available all day. A full-service bar is open after 17:00.
All rooms feature dual-line direct dial telephones, 25-inch remote control colour TV with Internet access, in-room video games, pay per view movies, AM/FM radio alarm clock with CD player, coffee/tea making facilities, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and a safe. Room voltage is 110v throughout the hotel.
The property also features 29 meetings and breakout rooms covering 24,551 square feet. The hotel offers not one but two major function rooms, the Broadway Ballroom with a theatre style layout for up to 700, while the smaller Times Square Ballroom accommodates up to 450 for a presentation type room arrangement.
