Global travel technology provider Worldspan, has introduced a new-look display through which agents can book and arrange travel itineraries. Worldspan Go! e-pricing Shopping Portal offers an integrated system with a web-like feel, that enables agents to search for fares without using GDS codes.
Through the new system agents have access to Worldspan Power Shopper, which finds the lowest available fares prior to booking, or Worldspan Flex Shopping Options that gives low-fares based on flexible itineraries. Low-fare alternatives for flights that have already been booked can be accessed via Worldspan Power Pricing and flights at a specified price are provided through the company”s Power Flight solution.
Added to the flight fare capabilities are the Worldspan Go! car and hotel booking tools, which are also available via the same portal. All displays feature point and click functionality, with pull-down menus and graphical calendars similar to those available on websites.
Worldspan CIO and senior vice president Sue Powers (pictured), explained what the new solution means for its customers: ”Worldspan agents can now conduct distinct types of low-fare searches all in one place using simple, time-saving entries that minimise manual comparison of fares, pricing and availability.
”The results are a faster shop-to-book process, higher agent productivity and revenues, and a powerful answer to the demand for more low-fare options by today”s travellers”.
In other news, the company has signed a three-year agreement with airfare consolidator and tour operator Dan Travel. The company specialises in travel to Central and South America, Europe, the Caribbean and destinations throughout the US. Worldspan will provide Dan Travel with its global distribution system (GDS), greatly improving the company”s worldwide reach.
”This partnership will greatly enhance the global fares, pricing, availability and service our customers rely on from Dan Travel,” said CEO Daniel Abraham.
