Travel technology and GDS (global distribution system) company, Worldspan, has created what it calls the travel industry”s first combined itinerary and re-pricing tool for airlines worldwide.
Rapid Reprice Select, introduced to Worldspan customers in the US last year, is now available for international itineraries regardless of the currency used to purchase a ticket, or in which currency the new ticket is to be issued.
It is designed to reduce the time spent by travel buyers and agents booking more than one alternate itinerary by eliminating the need to conduct separate shopping and re-pricing requests. The software offers new options in an integrated display, with fares, taxes, additional collections, refunds, penalties and administrative fees all included.
The system can be deployed across an airline”s network to enable airline reservations and travel agents, as well as online travel buyers from the carrier”s website, to make changes to an existing itinerary and retrieve up to five low-fare alternatives when looking for flights.
”A growing number of customers have adopted Rapid Reprice Select since it was introduced in the United States last year,” said Worldspan product solutions chief information officer and senior vice-president, Sue Powers.
