VISITBRITAIN says that the official number of visitors to the UK during the first 11 months of 2004 has already exceeded the total made in the whole of 2003. Latest figures from the Office for National Statistics show that 25.24m international visits were made to Britain between 1 January ” 30 November 2004, 11% more than in the year earlier period. The expected full year figure of 26m plus will exceed 1998 record numbers. Visitors from North America rose by 10% to 4.09m in the 11 months, from western Europe by 9% to 16.11m and from the rest of the world by 20% to 5.04m. Windsor remains one of the most popular attractions.
