OAG has come up with a new software package designed to make life easier for airlines to communicate with already booked clients when they have to make a schedule change, cancel a service or typically have a major disruption due to weather or even industrial action. Called PASNGR, and developed in conjunction with 15below, an aviation software applications specialist, the software communicates via e-mail, SMS, voice mail, fax and printed letter. Typically an airport rail service can be disrupted at the weekend by engineering work. PASNGR allows a carrier to tell customers booked on flights that day of the problems and can even suggest alternative routing. The airline is not going to change the flight departure time but if you have left your email address, or perhaps phone number when booking they can reach you as they are required to do under recent EU legislation.
